“I love to paint. I get caught up in the moment and paint what I feel about a place. I’m wound up like a dancer that must match the music. I must match the light, the color, the mood. I’m exhausted when finished.”

The story of a painterCharles sold his studio and moved out west where he focused on painting. Using his commercial design and photography skills, Charles traveled the United States capturing romantic archetypes of the West. His later work became known for an impressionistic realism style. The influence of his beginnings in advertising are evident in his meticulous attention to detail and his clear, harmonious compositions between figures, objects, and landscape.
Charles passed away in 2011. See more of Charles' work under the "About the Artist" tab at the top of the page. |
